14 Family Members Going to Work Killed after Bus Plunges into Ditch in Pakistan

How did the accident that killed 14 people happen? Police confirmed that the Saturday, May 18, accident left 14 people dead after the bus carrying 26 plunged into a ditch. 

The Indian Express reported that those who died were from the same family and included five children and two women. Preliminary investigations show the bus driver was negotiating a turn before veering off the road and falling into the ditch. "At least 14 people, including five children and two women, died on the spot. Nine injured have been shifted to a hospital where their condition is stated to be critical,” a police report said. Eyewitnesses said the driver was speeding, and the accident occurred due to brake failure. The police report indicates the deceased belonged to the same family and were travelling to work when the accident occurred. The injured were rushed to the nearest hospital for medical attention, as police said they were in critical condition.
